How to publish multiple Facebook and Instagram Stories

Postoria lets you publish multiple Facebook or Instagram Stories from one post. You can also publish a regular Facebook or Instagram post and send its media to Stories at the same time.

Publish a Story sequence

  1. Open Posts and create a new post.
  2. Add Facebook, Instagram, or both.
  3. Select the accounts that should receive the Stories.
  4. In the Facebook or Instagram section, choose Story under Publish as.
  5. Upload the images and videos for the sequence.
  6. Drag the files into the order in which they should be published.
  7. Publish immediately, schedule the post, or add it to a queue.

Each file becomes a separate Story on every selected account. Postoria publishes the files sequentially for each account and follows the file order shown in the editor.

Publish regular content and Stories together

To reuse the media from a regular post:

  1. Create a Facebook or Instagram post using a non-Story content type.
  2. Attach the media for the main publication.
  3. Turn on Also publish media to Stories in the network section.
  4. Publish immediately, schedule, or queue the post as usual.

Postoria publishes the main content first. It then publishes each attached media file as a separate Story for that account.

The option is not available for Facebook Link posts. Postoria treats Facebook Link content as a link-only publication and ignores any saved Also publish media to Stories value.

Publication order

For each account, Postoria handles only one publication from the post at a time. After that publication finishes processing, Postoria moves to the next one.

For a regular post with Also publish media to Stories enabled, the order is:

  1. Main publication
  2. Story created from the first media file
  3. Story created from the second media file
  4. Remaining Stories in file order

Different accounts can be processed independently, but the order inside each account is preserved.

File validation

Postoria validates every file against the Story requirements for its network. A file that is valid for a feed post or Reel may still fail Story validation because supported formats, file size, or video duration can differ.

When Also publish media to Stories is enabled, the files must satisfy both the main publication requirements and the Story requirements.

Understand the post count

The Publish, Schedule, or Add to queue button shows the number of external publications Postoria plans to create.

Examples for one selected account:

SetupPublications
Five-file Story sequence5
Regular post without Stories1
Regular post plus four Story files5

Selecting two accounts doubles those counts because every account receives its own publications.

Review publishing results

After publishing, open the post to see one result row for each external publication.

The same account can appear multiple times. This is expected: each row represents a separate publication. Rows for one account remain together and follow the publication order.

  • A successful publication shows its link when the network provides one.
  • A failed publication shows its own error.
  • Republish Failed retries failed publications.
  • Duplicate Failed creates a new draft for the accounts that had at least one failure.

First comments

Facebook and Instagram Stories do not support first comments in Postoria.

If a regular publication has a first comment and Also publish media to Stories is enabled, Postoria publishes the comment only on the main publication. No comment is created for the Story publications.

Analytics

Postoria stores analytics separately for each successful publication. The metrics available for Stories depend on the network, account type, permissions, and the information returned by Facebook or Instagram.

See How to use Analytics in Postoria for more information.
