How to connect an account to Postoria

This guide explains how to connect a social media account to Postoria so you can plan, schedule, and publish posts from your workspace.

Most social networks use a similar connection flow: open the Accounts page, click Add, choose the platform, approve the requested permissions, select the page, profile, channel, board, or account you want to add, and connect it to Postoria.

Before you start

For the smoothest setup, check these points first:

  • Use a desktop browser if possible. Some mobile and tablet browsers may not complete social login windows reliably.
  • Make sure you are in the correct Postoria workspace.
  • Sign in to the social media account that has access to the page, profile, channel, board, or business asset you want to connect.
  • Allow pop-ups for Postoria if your browser blocks the authorization window.
  • Temporarily disable VPNs, ad blockers, or privacy extensions if the connection window does not open or complete.
  • Approve all requested permissions during the connection flow. These permissions are needed so Postoria can connect the account and publish posts correctly.

  3. Go to the Accounts page.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Choose the social network you want to connect.

  9. After authorization, Postoria may show available pages, profiles, channels, boards, or accounts.
  10. Select the ones you want to add.
  11. Click Connect.

That’s it. The account is now connected to your workspace.

Repeat the same steps for each additional social media account you want to manage in Postoria.

If you see more than one connection option

Some platforms may offer more than one way to connect an account. Choose the option that matches your setup.

Facebook

For Facebook Pages, Postoria may show these options:

  • Via Meta business portfolio (Beta) - recommended for organizations managing business-owned Facebook Pages through Meta Business Manager.
  • Via personal Facebook account - use this when your personal Facebook login has access to the Facebook Page you want to connect.

Postoria supports Facebook Pages. Personal Facebook profiles and Facebook Groups cannot be connected for publishing.

Instagram

For Instagram, Postoria may show these options:

  • Via Meta business portfolio (Beta) - recommended for organizations that need durable, business-managed access to Instagram assets.
  • Via Instagram Login - a simpler setup for connecting one Instagram account at a time. This supports core features and usually needs reconnecting around once a year.
  • Via personal Facebook account - use this when your Instagram account is connected through Facebook. This can connect one or more Instagram accounts, but usually requires reconnecting at least every 60 days.

Choose the option that best matches how your Instagram account is managed.

TikTok

For TikTok, Postoria may show these options:

  • Via TikTok Login - recommended for most users.
  • Via TikTok Business Login (Beta) - use this for TikTok accounts that need Business API features, including first comment support.

X (Twitter)

When connecting X, Postoria may remind you about X posting credits.

You can continue connecting the account, but posting to X requires available X posting credits. You can check and buy credits on the Plan page inside Postoria.

Grant the requested permissions

During the connection process, the social network may ask Postoria to access specific permissions.

Approve the requested permissions and select any required checkboxes. If you skip permissions, Postoria may not be able to show the account in the selection list or publish posts correctly later.

If the authorization page asks which pages, profiles, channels, boards, or business assets Postoria can access, select the ones you want to use in Postoria.

Select the account in Postoria

After authorization, Postoria may show a list of available accounts, pages, channels, profiles, or boards.

Select the account you want to add and click Connect.

If more than one account is available, you can select the ones you want to connect to the workspace.

If the account you need does not appear

If Postoria does not show the account, page, channel, profile, or board you expected, it usually means the social platform did not return it during authorization.

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure you signed in to the correct social media account.
  2. Confirm that your social media account has the required role or permissions for the page, channel, profile, board, or business asset.
  3. Start again from an Incognito or Private browser window to avoid cached sessions.
  4. Disable VPNs, ad blockers, and privacy extensions during the connection attempt.
  5. Make sure you approved all requested permissions.
  6. If the asset was created or permission was granted recently, wait a few minutes and try again.

If you see a Troubleshooting guide link on the account selection screen, open it for platform-specific steps.

For common platform-specific issues, use these guides:

Telegram setup

Telegram is connected differently from most social networks.

To connect Telegram:

  1. Go to the Accounts page.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Choose Telegram.
  4. Enter your Telegram bot token.
  5. Enter the channel or group username, such as @example, or a chat ID if needed.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Select the Telegram account or chat Postoria finds and connect it.

If you do not have a bot token yet, create a bot with @BotFather in Telegram.

Make sure the bot is an administrator in the target channel or group. If you leave the username or chat ID empty, Postoria will try to find chats where the bot has been active recently, such as chats where the bot was mentioned or used.

Bluesky setup

Bluesky is also connected differently from most social networks.

To connect Bluesky:

  1. Go to the Accounts page.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Choose Bluesky.
  4. Enter your Bluesky handle or email address.
  5. Enter a Bluesky app password.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Select the Bluesky account Postoria finds and connect it.

Use a Bluesky app password, not your regular private account password. This is required if two-factor authentication is enabled and is also better for security.

You can create an app password in Bluesky settings under App Passwords.

Reconnecting an account

Sometimes an account may need to be reconnected. This can happen when a token expires, permissions are changed, access is revoked, or the social network requires a fresh authorization.

To reconnect, open the account in Postoria and follow the reconnect flow. The process is similar to adding an account: sign in, approve permissions, and confirm the account.

If Postoria finds other accounts that can be reconnected with the same authorization, it may ask whether you want to reconnect them too.

Common questions

Can I connect more than one account?

Yes. Repeat the connection flow for each account you want to add. If a platform returns multiple pages, profiles, channels, boards, or accounts during authorization, you can select the ones you want to connect.

Should I connect accounts from mobile?

We recommend using a desktop browser for connecting accounts. After the account is connected, you can use Postoria normally on mobile and tablet devices.

Do I need to share my social media password with Postoria?

For most social networks, no. You sign in on the official authorization page of the social network, and Postoria receives permission through the official API.

Telegram and Bluesky work differently. Telegram requires a bot token. Bluesky requires an app password, not your regular private account password.

Why does Postoria need permissions?

Postoria needs permissions from each social network so it can connect the selected account and publish posts through the official API.

The exact permissions depend on the social network and account type. Always approve the permissions shown during the connection flow if you want the account to work correctly in Postoria.

Conclusion

To connect an account to Postoria, go to Accounts, click Add, choose the platform, follow the official authorization steps, approve permissions, select the account you want to add, and click Connect.

If the account you need does not appear, retry from a clean browser session and check the platform-specific troubleshooting guide when available.
