Issues when adding a LinkedIn account to Postoria
When connecting a LinkedIn account to Postoria, you may run into issues. This can happen, and in many cases the cause is a LinkedIn limitation rather than a Postoria issue.
Postoria connects through LinkedIn’s official API, so it follows the same rules and limitations as other LinkedIn scheduling tools.
We recommend connecting your LinkedIn account from a desktop browser. Mobile and tablet browsers can sometimes have trouble with LinkedIn’s login and permission screens, so desktop is the most reliable option for the initial connection. Once your account is connected, you can use Postoria from your phone or tablet as usual—this is the only device-specific limitation we’ve seen.
What you can connect
Postoria supports:
- LinkedIn personal profiles
- LinkedIn Company Pages
- LinkedIn Showcase Pages
Most common reasons a Company Page doesn’t appear
In most cases, a Company Page doesn’t show up during connection because of one of these:
- You’re logged in to the wrong LinkedIn account
- You didn’t grant all requested permissions during the LinkedIn login flow
- You don’t have the required admin role (usually Super Admin)
- The Page is managed under a different LinkedIn account than the one you’re using to connect
- Your role was changed recently and LinkedIn hasn’t updated access everywhere yet
- LinkedIn temporarily limited access after a security check
- VPNs, ad blockers, privacy extensions, or cached sessions interfered with the login flow
Required roles and permissions
To connect a LinkedIn Company Page to Postoria, you need the correct access permissions on the LinkedIn side. Without proper permissions, the Page may not appear in the connection list.
In most cases, you need a Super Admin role to connect a Company Page via the official API.
Important: A Content Admin role alone usually isn’t sufficient for connecting a Company Page through third-party tools.
Where to check your LinkedIn Page role
If you manage the Page from your personal LinkedIn profile:
- In LinkedIn, open Me (top right).
- Under Manage, select your Company Page.
- Open Settings.
- Go to Manage admins.
- Confirm your role is Super Admin.
If you don’t have Super Admin access, ask the current Super Admin to upgrade your role.
Fix it in 5 steps
Try these steps in order:
- Confirm you’re in the right LinkedIn account. Make sure the Page is managed by the same account you’re using to connect.
- Check your role. For Company Pages, confirm you have the Super Admin role.
- Wait after role changes. If your role was updated recently, wait at least 15 minutes for LinkedIn to update access (this can take longer for Company Pages with multiple admins).
- Retry the connection cleanly. Log out of LinkedIn in all tabs, then reconnect from an Incognito/Private window.
- Remove blockers. Temporarily disable VPNs, ad blockers, and privacy extensions, then try again.
Note about LinkedIn Groups
LinkedIn doesn’t support connecting or publishing to LinkedIn Groups through the official API. Postoria works within the official LinkedIn API, so Groups aren’t available in Postoria.
What to send support if you’re still stuck
If the steps above don’t help, contact Postoria support and include:
- Whether you’re connecting a profile or a Company Page
- Your Page role or access level (for Company Pages)
- The LinkedIn Page URL
- A short description of the issue
- Screenshots of the connection flow (if possible)
This helps us identify the cause quickly and advise the next steps.
Conclusion
Most LinkedIn connection issues can be resolved by confirming the correct account, checking roles, and retrying the connection with a clean login. If you’re stuck, Postoria support can help you troubleshoot.
